#227 π§ The Journey of the Beard & The Pursuit of Minimalism β¨

Embarking on a beard journey invariably intertwines with the exploration of minimalism, a notion that revolves around the philosophy that less can indeed be more. My cousin pointed out the holes in my comfortable long sleeved T-shirt four years ago, my dad likened me to a monk with a golden begging bowl when I dressed up for events, and a friend's discussion on splurging 16 years ago became inadvertent catalysts for pondering over the journey of life and expressions. β³π
Upon delving into economics, a revelation surfaces: the most valuable entity money can buy is "time" β granting us the liberty to indulge in whatever pursuits beckon our spirit. πΈβ°
There's a thread from my spiritual influences that once hooked me: "A man without bread and a mustache is [like] a woman with a beard and a mustache." Yet, with deeper exploration, it becomes apparent that the presence or absence of a beard barely grazes the essence of consciousness and our internal center. π§ββοΈ
In many ways, the wild beard embodies a peaceful rebellion, a subtle non-conformity against conventional norms. However, an unhygienic beard inevitably descends below the realms of the mind and culture, becoming a reflection of neglect rather than rebellion. πΏπ§Ό
An effortless core value that has gently woven itself into my practices is the mantra that "easy is right." The regimen of "shampoo, hot water, cold water, conditioner," which on some days might seem high maintenance ππ§, but as my younger brother jokes, not for long.
During the COVID scenario two years ago, I found it necessary to trim my hair slightly due to maintenance challenges. And thus, the journey continues: balancing simplicity with care, non-conformity with mindfulness, and external appearance with internal consciousness. ππββοΈ
