[42] Embracing Nature’s Rhythms for Mindful Living πŸƒπŸ›ŽοΈ

Every Thursday, my cardio routine includes sprints - 20 seconds, 10 times. Interestingly, mountains in Dharmkot, one of the best places for a workout, I found myself less exhausted. Perhaps the purer air played a part. After these intense cardio bursts, settling into a sit became almost effortless. πŸƒπŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

Once, while in Coonoor, an intriguing conversation with a fellow traveller, Natalie, introduced me to the cicada - one of the loudest insects out there. πŸ¦—

This got me thinking about a project my friend Nikhil once suggested: exploring sounds that aid mindfulness. Once we're truly in touch with our center, certain sounds, much like the bells in temples or churches, continuously stimulate and remind us of this core. It's like a beacon, a constant nudge towards mindfulness. The attention swiftly shifts from our body's reaction to external stimuli through senses and the chatter of the mind, anchoring attention firmly to that center. πŸ›ŽοΈπŸ™

[43] Meditation Technique No. 42

Intone a sound audibly, then less and less audibly as feeling deepens into this silent harmony.

Any sound will do, but if you love a certain sound it will be better, because if you love a certain sound then the sound is not just sound. When you intone the sound, then you are also intoning a hidden feeling with it, and by and by the sound will be dropped and only feeling will remain.
