[120] Laundry and Mountains: Unexpected Joys and Lessons 🏞️🧺

Laundry had a neutral motion until Shanon, a friend from Australia mentioned the joy in getting fresh laundry. Some things we often overlook, taking for granted. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I remember those physics lessons about humidity affecting drying, but never truly experienced them until I faced misty days that felt unusually hot. πŸ”₯πŸ’§

Finding a spot to wash and dry my clothes after four days of attempting amidst the moisture-laden woods? Pure ecstasy. πŸƒβœ¨ But thinking back to post-lockdown days with 12 kgs of laundry waiting? Strangely, no joy there, more like relief. Situations change our perspective. πŸ”„

Mention 'mindfulness', and thoughts often fly to mountain caves, meditation retreats, and, ironically, a kind of 'anti-life'. But it's the mountains that challenge that, life in high altitude is difficult and expensive. πŸ”οΈπŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

Contrary to popular belief, comfort aids mindfulness. When our energy isn't sapped by daily struggles, we can truly look inward. 🌌

I noticed a near-zero usage of social media and Netflix during my first three weeks in the mountains. The pure air, ample walking, mountain coolness, and village slowness were all too alluring. πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈβ„οΈ But after a while, I craved the conveniences of the city. πŸŒ†

Contrast, it turns out, is stunningly beautiful. πŸŒ“πŸŽ¨
